Project Description

Mousehole Play Area

One common misconception about playgrounds is that they need to be impressively large in order to have a striking design, but this project shows that is not always the case!

Our parent company, RTC Safety Surfaces, was recently sub-contracted to install the safety surfacing for Mousehole’s new playground. The play area was under 100m², however, our team still managed to create a striking design that included lots of different colours and graphics.

Our team travelled almost 400 miles to install new wet pour safety surfacing over the existing tarmac and wet pour, varying the depths between 40mm and 60mm.

Based near the Cornish coast, it was perhaps apt that the design included plenty of blue, yellows and green with a definite sea-side theme. All of our teams are trained in-house and have years of experience, so were able to carefully create the smaller graphics that really gave the surfacing a finishing touch.

The smaller graphics were added in contrasting colours and included sea life such as crabs, turtles and fishes and helped make the design all the more striking. Our team managed to finish the project in good time, meaning both pupils and staff could start the new school year with a brand new playground.
